FAQ'S
| | What events does NAMBR sanction?
Currently NAMBR sanctions Obedience trials, Tracking tests and Earth Dog tests for registered dogs. These are held in accordance with NAMBR rules and regulations.
NAMBR rules and regulations for these events are similar to CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) requirements so that NAMBR titled dogs can be truly proud of their accomplishments.
Can registered purebreds compete in NAMBR?
NAMBR allows registered purebreds to compete in NAMBR sanctioned obedience events. Purebreds must be registered with NAMBR to compete in a NAMBR sanctioned obedience trial. On receipt of a completed registration application and applicable fees, NAMBR assigns a POD (Purebred Obedience Dog) number to the dog. The number allows the dog to compete in NAMBR sanctioned obedience events. Please note purebreds registered with NAMBR are subject to a listing fee. The listing fee is in addition to any obedience trial entry fees. The POD listing fee currently is $2.00 per entry.
Does NAMBR maintain lists of breeders of mixed breed dogs?
NAMBR is an event registry only, allowing the owners of mixed breeds to compete in obedience trials and tracking tests. NAMBR does not promote the breeding of mixed breeds and therefore does not maintain a list of breeders of mixed bred dogs.
What is the purpose of registering my dog?
Your dog must be registered with NAMBR to participate in NAMBR sanctioned events. This is a onetime registration fee. Registration includes a registration certificate for your dog and for owners of mixed breeds and unregistered purebreds free initial membership in NAMBR for the handler for the year in which the dog was registered. The registration number on the registration certificate is required to enter NAMBR sanctioned events. This registration number allows NAMBR to track qualifying legs earned at NAMBR sanctioned events and issue certificates for titles earned.
Who can host a NAMBR event?
NAMBR relies on it's members to host NAMBR events. A member must be in good standing with NAMBR to host a NAMBR event. The event is held according to NAMBR rules and regulations and is sanctioned by NAMBR. NAMBR tracks all qualifying scores and issues certificates for titles achieved.
How to I register my dog?
Simply click on "Registration" and follow the instructions. Forward a completed application with the required payment to the address indicated. Within 3-4 weeks you will receive your registration certificate.
